Connor Group Laptop Setup Guide – Windows 11

Take your laptop out of the box, plug in the power adapter, power on the laptop, and follow these instructions:

  1. Choose your Language
  2. Choose your Country.
  3. Choose a keyboard layout.

a. Skip setting up a “second keyboard layout”.

  1. Connect the laptop to your Wi-Fi and click “Continue”.
  2. Setting up yourWork or School Account”.
    • Current Employee:  
      1. Sign in: enter your Connor Group email address.
      2. Enter your Network Password
    • New Employee:
      1. Select “Forgot my password”
      2. Fill out the Captcha
      3. Select “Text my mobile phone” and enter your cell phone number to receive the temp code via SMS
      4. Enter the temp code and create a network password
  3. Keep your Account Secure  
    • Current Employee:  

     Accept the MFA Prompt from your Cell phone and then skip to step 7.

  • New Employee: Please setup your MFA (Multi Factor Authentication).
    1. From your Cell Phone:
      1. Download the “Microsoft Authenticator” app from the App Store.
      2. Open the app and select “Work or School Account”.
      3. Select “Scan Bar Code” then follow the prompts on the laptop.
    2. Keep your account Secure.  

From the Laptop, click the Next button.

  1. Scan the bar code that appears on the computer screen with your cell phone.  
     
  1. Accept the MFA prompt on your phone by typing in the 2-digit code.
     
  1. Click the Next button. (Flip this page over and continue to step 7)
  1. Wait for the Device 3 step setup:  
    1. When “Continue Anyway” button appears, click that button.
    2. The screen will go black and come back to the “Account Setup” step.  

Click the “Continue Anyway” button.  

  1. If prompted, Accept MFA prompt.
  2. Set up Face Recognition (if the laptop supports this feature).
  3. Create a PIN:  

- Check the box that says “Include letters and symbols” Requirements:

  1. Accept MFA prompt and type the 2-digit code into the Authenticator App.
  2. Your Pin must be at least 8 characters long.
  3. Must contain upper and lowercase letters.
  4. Must contain at least 1 special character (ex: $ or @)
  1. You Should now be at the Desktop.  

Note: It may take 30-60 minutes for programs to finish downloading and installing before they are available in the Start menu.   

  1. After all programs have downloaded and installed (about 30-60 minutes), please click on the Start Button and open each of the following programs:
    1. Outlook
    2. Zoom (Use the SSO button to sign in. When prompted the domain is “connorgp”)
    3. Slack (Go to url Connorgroup.slack.com and sign in with Azure and use your CG credentials)
    4. OneDrive
    5. Company Portal:  

i. Upon opening: select “Laptop” category from the list of devices

 

f. Dell Command Update

  1. After Running Dell Command Update, please reboot the computer.

Notice: Over the next few days you may receive prompts to update Windows. Please allow those updates and reboot the laptop.
