By default, OneDrive groups are secured so that they cannot be shared outside the company with clients. If there is a need to share files back and forth with the client, a new group folder must be created. This new folder will have a designation of "(Shared)" at the end of the group name.

To have a shared folder created:


  1. Use the "Request New OneDrive Group for External Guests" button found on the "My OneDrive Groups" page on CG Insider : My OneDrive Groups
  2. Fill out the request form
  3. A copy of the request will be sent to the engagement leaders and IT for approval.
  4. Once approved, the folder will be created and the owner of the folder will be able to share with external clients.
  5. The new shared folder will show up under the "CG Engagement Shared" tab
  6. Click the gear icon next to the OneDrive folder you wish to share
  7. Click the "Add/Remove" selection
  8. Enter the email address of the external user
  9. Click the "Share" Button.
