Connor Group's security team is implementing an increasingly more common practice of adding a disclaimer to the top of incoming email messages that originate from sources outside the organization.
An example of the disclaimer is shown here:
This disclaimer is not a certain indicator that the message has malicious content. Rather, it's meant to act as a reminder to stop, look, and think about how you interact with this message.
External email messages pose a much greater risk of being phishing attempts and having malicious content. Our intention is that this provides an extra bit of information to make an informed decision about the safety an security of the email message in question.
